FDA clears mobile medical app reSET-O to help opioid use disorder patients stay in recovery programs. This new method of treatment is a prescription cognitive behavioral therapy to be used in conjunction with treatment that includes buprenorphine and contingency management. reSET-O can be downloaded directly to a patient’s mobile device with a prescription from their doctor. It uses a reward program for training, monitoring, and alerting health care providers and patients during an outpatient treatment program. This app is not intended to be used as a stand-alone therapy, or as a substitute for medication. It is currently only available in English.
